Camden Is...Bright Not Blight
This public art project is focused on celebrating the residents of Camden, NJ while bringing attention
to illegal dumping within the city. Nearly 100 portraits were captured and then adhered onto abandoned buildings throughout Camden. Underneath each portrait, the residents state what the city means to them. Words like "Invincible", "Beautiful", "Tenacious", and "God's Home" articulate the love for the city. Camden Is...Bright Not Blight was initially a part of A New View Camden spearheaded by Bloomberg Philanthropies, Camden City Hall, Camden Community Partnership, and Rutgers University. EJM Foundation has continued this project because of the overwhelming requests to continue beautifying Camden with photographs of the beautiful residents.
